All final candidates are required to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet physical requirements of the job; some positions require a physical examination. During the selection process, candidates may be asked to take a skills test, and/or participate in other job-related assessments.

Applicants may be required to have specific licenses, permits, endorsements, or certifications, such as a Commercial Drivers License with a Passenger Endorsement as a condition of employment.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • At least 23 years of age
  • Highschool Diploma/GED
  • Must possess a Commercial "A" or "B" CDL with Passenger endorsement or a Commercial "A" or "B" CDL permit with Passenger endorsement
  • Documented five (5) year driving history from DMV
  • All candidates must attend a half day Pre-Employment video-based assessment session
Training classes are held at 3145 S. Tryon St. Applicants who have been selected will be extended an Offer of Hire by Transit Management of Charlotte and will attend a 7-week training class. All applicants must meet or exceed these employment qualifications and standards, which include, but are not limited to:
  • Criminal history check
  • Department of Transportation Drug & Alcohol screening
  • Department of Transportation Medical Examination Certificate (MEC) with at least 1 year med cert
